ダラブッカはトルコ・エジプトなど中近東を中心に幅広く使用される打楽器で、ダルブッカ、タブラ、ドゥンベックなどと呼ばれる太鼓。古典音楽からベリーダンスのバックでの演奏などアラブ音楽には欠かすことの出来ない重要な楽器です。
Darbuka is a percussion instrument widely used in Turkey, Egypt and other parts of the Middle East. It is an important instrument indispensable to Arabic music, from classical music to the background music of belly dance.
一説にはエジプト起源であるとされ、南下したアフリカ文化圏のジャンベにも影響を与えたといわれています。本来は陶器で作られたボディに魚(エイ・サメなど)の皮が張られていました。現在は利便性を考慮し、ボディは金属・ヘッドはプラスチックや特殊ペーパーのものが主流です。
One theory has it that it originated in Egypt and influenced the djembe of African cultures down south. Originally, the body was made of ceramic and covered with fish (ray, shark, etc.) skin. Today, for convenience, the body is usually made of metal and the head of plastic or special paper.
ダラブッカのエッジ(ふち)部分が直角なものがターキッシュタイプ。滑らかなカーブになっているものをエジプトタイプと呼びます。
タイプによって演奏テクニックが少し異なる部分もありますが、どちらも異国情緒漂う乾いた明るい高音に深い低音、繊細な指使いも魅力です。
一般的には太ももの上に寝かせ演奏しますが、ストラップを掛けて立って踊りながら演奏することもございます。
Darbukas with right-angled edges are the Turkish type. Those with smooth curves are called Egyptian type.
The playing technique differs slightly between the different types, but both have an exotic dry, bright high note, deep bass and delicate fingering.
Generally, they are played lying on the thighs, but they may also be played standing up with a strap, while dancing.

ダラブッカヘッドを交換される際は、外したリム(上の部分)とボディのネジの位置を変えないようにして下さい。（ネジ穴にうまく収まらない可能性があります。）
また、当店でもダラブッカヘッドの交換を承っております(メーカーによってサイズが異なりますのでお問合わせ下さい。)

When replacing the darbuka head, do not change the position of the removed rim (top part) and body screws. (They may not fit properly in the screw holes.)
We can also replace the darbuka head (sizes vary by manufacturer, please contact us).
